A hybrid is a load. It needs an empty bay or it is clutter.

People buy hybrids because a chart said so. Charts do not know whether your 5-iron already lives there.

Pilar marks hybrid candidates only against empty cells. If the cell is full, the hybrid stays on the counter. If the cell is empty and the hybrid balloons in bake, we try a different loft or a fairway. Ballooning is not occupancy.
